History: 2002-Present

The Women in Leadership luncheon was established in 2002 by Veronica Horn, Vice President, Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce to bring women in Saginaw County together to promote community visions. Veronica modeled the group after group of women in Lansing, Michigan that were meeting to make a difference in government and the community.

Four women who had just completed the 1000 Leaders Program in Saginaw County met to discuss how they could benefit the Saginaw community and women in leadership. After much discussion, the women decided to assist Veronica and rekindle the Friday Women in Leadership luncheon series. And so it began, Jeanne Murphy, Kathleen Heyn, Drewe Robinson and Polly Lynch formed the committee to host the Friday Women's Leadership Luncheons.

The first meeting under the new format was held on September, 2004 and the attendees provided ideas for future programs and specific women issues and needs. The luncheon meetings were held on the third Friday of each month at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw.

The Goals
